Homemade cleansers

Found a recipe for homemade Laundry Detergent online so I bought the ingredients.
And gave it a try. Dissolve the Fels-Naptha bar in 6 cups hot water on the stove.

It took a while.
Add one cup Borax, and one cup washing soda.
Pour into a five gallon bucket. We also added Lavendar (an essential oil) for scent.
Here is the link to where I got the recipe. On her site she says it makes 4 gallons. I might have done something wrong because I have very little detergent right now.

I haven't tried the dishwasher soap yet but I probably will tomorrow, since I have all the ingredients. Using these types of products puts me one step closer to being able to have a grey water system.

  3. It works fine, but I still think I was supposed to add what I made to water. So I don't use the full 1/3 cup for each load.
